Teacher and Director Member of Réseau Mentorat since: February 2022 With a background in rural engineering and agronomy, Louis Poirier held the position of regional lead for the management of soil and manure with the MAPAQ, before transitioning into the education sector, where he has worked for most of his career. Starting his career in education at Saint-Hyacinthe’s Institut de Technologie Agroalimentaire, he then moved on to the CEGEP de Matane, where he has held the positions of teacher, academic adviser and director of studies. Over the years Louis has developed a wealth of experience in project management, rural development and HR management. He has trained, consulted for and mentored many agricultural entrepreneurs and has a solid grasp of the issues they face. His greatest achievements include internationalizing the student pool at the CEGEP de Matane and the erection of the Joseph-Rouleau cultural complex. Louis Poirier believes, “A mentor is a listening ear, somebody you can talk with.” Louis’ areas of interest: carpentry, radio. |
