Dominic Nicolas was born and raised in Grande-Rivière.

As a young boy, he loved nothing more than cooking with his mother. By the time he turned 16, it was clear: he wanted to be a chef. And so, in 1993, he started culinary school in Gaspé.

Dominic Nicolas holds a diploma of vocational studies in cooking and was running his own restaurant aged 21. He believes that buying his restaurant was the greatest experience he could have had in entering the business world.

In 2006 he was looking for a better way of earning a living, which is how he became the owner of Marché Nicolas, a grocery store in Cap d’Espoir.
